this is very similar to how I cook mine. I do use bacon but I either roast the sprouts in the oven or cook them in a skillet on the stove.

My daughter roasts them, too - maybe roast first, then add to the other stuffs..use less bacon grease, maybe..

I use that good turkey bacon to avoid all the grease. I chop it up and cook it with the onions then take it out of the skillet and cook the sprouts, then add the onion/bacon mixture back for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking to warm thru.
