The Scattered Links Post
Dec. 13th, 2009 03:14 amDork Alert:
I am obscenely excited to use my 'Magic Bullet' - http://www.buythebullet.com/ - it arrived some time ago, but I just now got a chance to get it out of the huge box and look at it. It was Buy One, Get One Free - so Jess is getting the other set for Christmas.
We can chop! We can juice! We can process!
For so long, our problem, here, has been time. My oddball shift. Well, no more eating processed junk. Between this Bullet business and my crock, our diets have improved greatly/will improve even more. Hallelujiah.
I am SO taking fresh Seven-Second Salsa to work for Christmas Eve. Maybe some Hummus or Speedy Guacamole, if I'm feelin' kinda fancypants.
For so long, I have dreamed of shredded carrots.
*~*~*
Heh. I kinda got an early Christmas present, today.
DJ is still feeling poorly, sore throat (no temp, no headache, no stomach issues) - so I've doubled his vitamin C, started echinacea, been drowning him in homemade chicken soup and TheraFlu for throats, and having him gargle with salt water and peroxide. It's working, but I'm seriously getting on his nerves. If he's not better by Monday, I'm making him an appointment for Tuesday - and we can drive his new car there, heh.
Anyway, while looking for something in the Apocalypse Storeroom, he happened upon -
- a clock he made when he was thirteen in shop class. It's fabulous, carved out of wood, with a free-form inset triangular design. It had stopped working, and he was 'embarrassed' that I kept it still sitting out at the old house. I didn't care. I honestly liked it.
Well, he fiddled with it, and fixed it. And called to my attention that it actually looks something like this (but set on a wood base):

Only in two-tones of pine (heh), without the little star thingy in the middle. I LOL'd, and now, it sits proudly flanked by Amok!Time Spock and Kirk on the wardrobe in my bedroom.

Made many trips up and down the hill, but got in some kero - OH, SO HEAVY, TO LUG - so we won't totally freeze. Gonna get the rest (I actually have money set aside - whoot!) on Tuesday, 'cos I KNOW this boy is gonna want to be driving that car ;)

Ordered THIS coat for my mom for Christmas:

I know. QVC. (A coworker is a walking advertisement for them, so I checked them out, after seeing her amazing lunchbag..) It's gonna look adorable on her, with her cute curly red hair :)

Date: 2009-12-13 07:01 pm (UTC)And Teh QVC - I still don't have tv, but am constantly regaled with the savings/cute stuff Lisa's gotten, and okay. Fine. I do check them out, every now and then....right now, there's some weird discrepancy - saying that I have more than one account on my pin number - - which I don't even have. I had to buy the coat on 'speed buy', and was NOT ABLE to get the lovely tea set for my daughter, and and and -
- totally not flailing here, no. And yes, it will look so cute on her. :)
