What an off-center, sleepwalk day that hasn't really hit me, yet.

*shakes head*

Woke up - swimmy-headed, with distant throbbing - to call work, re: Tylenol 3; which I am apparently having a mild allegic reaction to - only to have them tell me to call back and be honest how I feel. Well, honestly? I felt nauseous on it, a little...itchy; A LOT, WTF is THAT about?...and unable to concentrate - and STILL FEELING PAIN, WTF..the Ibuprofen worked better. I don't even really remember what I babbled to my DON and then, to the scheduler (from Hell ™) that called me, after, trying to dangle all sorts of money at me if I'd come in anyway...Well. Hell, I was feeling NO PAIN, heh; and said as much..and when I brought up the issue of liability, well..that was that. I said that I'd try going without it tomorrow night - and I will, as this was actually *much* stronger than I'd expected - and went back to sleep; after DJ tried to rouse me by putting on some random The Colbert Reports.

Totally floppy as a ragdoll, and recall vaguely sitting there with an idiot grin, saying, 'Oh, he's SO handsome, OMG..', and 'OMG, I love him..', all dreamily, a few times. My poor, poor son.

And amazingly, even THAT didn't really help. But it did help my dreams, which were totally Colbert- and [livejournal.com profile] gayalithiel-laden, heh. Odd ones, too.

Not even being told that -

- wait for it, people -

- EVERYONE CALLED OFF, TONIGHT. ALL THE AIDES.

- made a difference in my state.

Yes, you read that right. Turns out that there were three CNAs scheduled for tonight, and I was one of them - And the rest all called off before me. I can't imagine what they did - either, a) they paid MAD money to get someone to come in/stay, or, b) the bigwigs had to wipe a few hinies, themselves. Chain of Command, yo. I'm sort of scared at what's gonna happen, but, at the time I was told? I really didn't give a rat's ass; though I made sympathetic and apologetic noises, I'm sure.

Viva la Revolution!

So, I kinda flopped around and slept some more and then awoke to a muzzy head (did NOT take anymore of that shit, thank you) and then had some lovely news and delicious, heady, romping about, online..

Oh, yis. ;)

Then, the afterglow of that helped me to re-energize enough to pad out to the kitchen, put on some, 'Specialist'-thank-you-very-much, etc into 'Chain-of-Flowers'-yes-indeedy, etc and proceed to cut up a cantaloupe for this week's work lunches while brewing some MAD Earl Grey iced tea and boiling eggs for my son, as he loves my deviled eggs and they're a rare treat (and egg salad, with the leftovers). THEN got a wild-hair to wing some sort of Taco Lasagna with anything and everything; alternating layers of fresh-diced tomatoes and onions and salsa with seasoned taco meat, refritos and cheese galore, of course. It's evil!Incarnate, but pretty damned good. Will be easy, on a bed of shredded lettuce, for supper, tomorrow. :)

See?

Still babbling.

Oh, and I finally popped in the Kimba, The White Lion DVD I bought on a whim for a dollah at Walmart - and I do NOT remember the theme music being that damned lame. Sorry.

Hehehehehe, but I did love the scene where the butterflies (all making sparkles in this rushing, solid wave, etc) lead Kimba towards the land, through the ocean - exactly as I remembered it. I remember getting teary-eyed over it, as a youngling..Heh. :)

La, la, la, la - Have some Chuck and Geoffrey, just because:

Strike-a-roonie!

God, that just never gets old. NEVER. I particularily like Chuck's expression in #5.... and Geoffrey's expression in every frame. And because I am now watching that episode again, I feel obligated to point out that Chuck's shirt in the first section (olive) is very lovely. A good color on him. *nods sagely*

Glad you were inspired to all sorts of cullinary creativity last night and I wanna hear about these dreams :)

Yis. After one Vicoden and a repeat performance of my mashed sweet potatoes (in reverse), I swore that the pain would be MUCH preferable.

WHY DO PEOPLE TAKE DRUGS ON PURPOSE???????

Your culinary description does NOTHING to aid my GEEGOSHI'MSTARVING state I am in. So I'm coming over for lunch.

I cannot believe everyone called off. B*A*V*T*A at work there. Perhaps now they will explore their liability a little further. Cos honestly? I am used to investigating the stuff you usually describe. It's scary.

I would also like to hear about your dreams. Fork em over!
