Sep. 14th, 2007 09:32 amYay. Hmmm - I was asked to and found a great lye (sodium hydroxide) -leaching method for my friend and co-worker, Patrick, who is going back to his home in Africa soon and wants to teach his parish how to make soap. He wants to do this naturally and cheaply..and eventually sell it, of course.
It will have to be applied on a bit of a grander scale, but hey..it'll work. Just need more barrels. He'd hoped to somehow to end up with hydrochloric acid as a potentially profitable by-product, but, bzuh - electrolyte dissociation, uh...900 degrees C..uh..
*brain bursts into flame*
I do, however, HATE that trees will be used for said process - has to be hardwoods, too. Should I, liEk, lie? And say I couldn't find any information online?
