correctiveshoes621Again with the BusyHappy. The house is all clean and fresh and awaiting Frankie's first impression (not that I'm worried..but it's a pride thing, yaknow).
I kinda hate that this has to be some HUGE production, though (as always), taking up my whole weekend off..
See, the thing is, we were all invited to Patrick's - who I've not seen in YEARS..and have known since we were both four. LOVE Teh Patrick..but, his wife has a problem with me..and ironically, she and I used to be best friends, and *I* was the one who fixed them up and was in their wedding, etc etc..long, long story.
She was just replaced, somewhere along the line, with a Stepford Wife. A Right-Wing Stepford Wife..and add to that, the fact that Patrick took my virginity...and was introducing me to his family as 'his first love' in the receiving line at the wedding..an-n-n-nd the time he made that big emotional 'confession' and then tried to make out with me at that Halloween party, after she went to bed..Oh, my. I mean, hell. A bit of a shock, yeah; but, I didn't take offense, and, frankly, if I *was* some threat?
Shee-it.
If I'd WANTED Patrick? I'da HAD Patrick.
Please.
(Oh, and remember that time you both came to my house with the lesbian porn and tried to get me to..? Hmm? Remember THAT? Eeeeee...how awkward, lol..but water under the bridge.)
Well, Frankie is up in arms, naturally. I mean WHO FUCKIN' CARES? He is kind of afraid that seeing Pat will somehow steal his thunder away from his Big Birthday Deal, or something, I dunno. Pat was really excited to see us all, as, 'We have not all been together since the last funeral..' AND his wife is out of town, so, it's a perfect time. She STILL behaves as if Frankie and P and I are some embarrassing reminder of her 'sordid past' (cue dramatic music)...She never even went to George's or Tracy's funerals..and that stung.
Eff JU, Denise. We were blood..and some of us DON'T FORGET where we came from or what we all went through together.
SOME things never change...though I am SURE to have some surprises for Pat, this time around.
