My son just told her off. BIG TIME. Guess the gloves are off, now. They went at it like gangbusters. She said he should 'know his place'(..but, like his mother..he doesn't; and never will, thank God). He shouted that he would be a better provider than, 'A forty-year old unemployed drunk'..Oh, God..Oh, God..Oh, God...After we were dismissed, he roared as we went out the door, 'I am ashamed to call the two of you family.'

Wow.

You don't really want to know what he did to her shoes.

She = soon-to-be-ex-mother-in-law...Tastykake fortune millionairess..and me, not the debutante she quite had in mind. Years of snubs and backbiting, and she once wanted to have me committed for wearing black clothing. A fuckin' monster a'la Joan Collins from, 'Dynasty'. She sued her own sister, and made the children all sign their inheritances (from her second husband) over to her. Twenty years of a nightmare for me.

Whatever Bern wants..Bern GETS. She lives in a Jackie O fantasy land.

Oh, I could go on and on and on..but you know? It hurts too damned much.

Naturally, her son is 'sensitive' and has a 'delicate psyche'..and ALL THIS is MY fault. The drinking, the abuse, the utter fuckin' poverty...all of it.

I know. It was a long time coming. And The Man just sat there, staring at the floor throughout.

She is getting him into culinary arts school. How nice. They have had his uncle declared a ward of the state...and are putting his father in a nursing home. The house went up for sale two nights ago.

She couldn't fuckin' WAIT.

It all just makes me sick.
