Hmmm...interesting, from
rickysbaby:

I love the idea of a structured subject chat meet-up, especially something so..intriguingly frivolous...
Week 3 of La Vida Pete-less.
a) a LOT less stress, but still many, 'knee-jerk moments', when I just naturally go, "Oh, I have to tell - Oh, yeah." *ache* Thirty years is a lot to undo.
b) got the yard mostly-done and will soon be mulching. I have plenty of mulch left, it's just making time. The weather was beautiful, this weekend - khaki capri (yes, KHAKI,
gayalithiel) and astronaut tee-shirt-nice. 79F, today! Would have been a brilliant day to hang out, but - oh, yeah. Went grocery shopping, and just..took my time, with the drive. Enjoyed the sun, the sky, the breeze..the earth, waking up. There's the smell of life, in the air, again, and it is welcome. Turkey buzzards are huge and intimidating. Baby goats are adorable.
c) observed/learned how to change my spark plugs.
d) watched a LOT of Bill Hicks..and a LOT of Imax space stuff..It's just a ride.
e) Taxes. DONE. Out.
f) got out with the telescope, har, for a good hour and such. In 'PUBLIC'. Actually considering joining something - more, in 'PUBLIC', I know - that local-ish astronomical society - SO exciting. DJ actually seems interested, as well, which shocked me. Something good to study up for and learn - they offer night classes, as well, but I presently work every other Wednesday.
Yes. I realize how anti-social I've become, and it's time to cut that shit out.
g) posted WAY too much, on here. :D

And this is CRACK, to me. CRACK:

Date: 2014-04-14 01:49 pm (UTC)I know it must be hard to not talk to Pete. Perhaps with time you will both find a way to talk together without so much stress. ::hugs::
Hey, khaki capris are the official uniform of rich ladies in Newport Beach. Needless to say I don't own a pair but you'll look sharp if you ever come out this way. ;)
How fun with the telescope. You should join the society - even if you can only go half the time it will be fun!
One of the streets I drive home on is lined with eucalyptus trees where a least a hundred turkey vultures perch at night. If you hit it just around sunset you can see them all in the trees like they are hanging 'bird' fruit or something. It's pretty cool.
LOL - Carl. Great pic.

Date: 2014-04-15 07:15 pm (UTC)Turkey vultures are awesome. The
dumplandfill is less than a mile from my office and whenever they start the big equipment the birds fly off and a fair few settle on our balconies. Get really good, up close looks at them. Perfection in design. Seriously. Not pretty, but awesome. And yeah, join! Why not? Astronomy societies/groups always need more women.
