Thanks, everyone for your well-wishes. :)
She came home, today - she was VERY lucky - and the greatest challenge, now, will be to keep her from worrying. And to keep her taking her meds, which she doesn't really like.
Annnnnnnd, mainly, to keep my eldest sister at bay - who seems psychotically determined to hysterically bully my mother into a, 'fragile old lady who needs to be in a nursing home'-state. She called, already, trying to rally me 'round against Mom, and get her round-the-clock care or some-fucking-such - when my brother LIVES there, and I am ACROSS THE STREET AT WORK AT A MEDICAL FACILITY, when he is not. I got to her place in liEk, four minutes, on Saturday morning. If ANYTHING will put her in the ground, it will be HER. She needs rest and relaxation, not this. She's to return to work in two weeks - she aint dead.
This is the sister with the cat drama. I mean, psycho - to the point of actually picking up dead cats on the side of the road to bury them-stuff. This is the sister who actually marched up to the nurses' desk and asked, 'if they had any fucking socks in this place', because Mom's feet were cold. This is the sister who calls, drunk and blubbering, and beats my son's ear about her marriage (which is on shaky ground because of The Cats ™) for three hours. The attending physician actually told her, 'not to make this about HER' - amen. Someone had to say it.
Then, there's the youngest sister, who is following in her footsteps - only HER genre is, 'babymama-drahmah-let's go to court' histrionics. Christ. Don't even get me started, but suffice to say I had to literally edge her, by the elbow, out of the room when she arrived on Saturday morning because she came in huffing and gulping and sobbing like a maniac. NOT good, either.
My brother and I just roll our eyes. We've always been two of a kind and get along - but we've got our work cut out for us, with this.

Date: 2012-07-09 09:01 pm (UTC)I hope your mom's recovery goes well, and that the difficult sisters wind up too distracted with their personal difficulties to actually cause too much trouble.
