Our, 'Magic 8 Ball', was being a right coy smart-ass, tonight.

*~*~*

Had a really nice, really mellow and giggly night-off with Pete. No arguing, no attitudes - just being nice to each other, genuinely talking - like Teh Olde Days ™ It had been too long. We'd been SO on the outs, for MONTHS, now..just..God. Just hateful and stressed-out, the both of us.

But tonight was good. He loved wallowing in the Vast Array of Kitties - and took special note of how much healthier Sid appears - and may take the last Hurricane Irene kitten, Robert :) If so, it will be one of the most spoiled cats on the planet..That'll work.

We got his anti-virus woes fixed, and I ended up taking the time to try to get him to explore - and not be scared of - YouTube (the internet's still a bit much for him, but it'll get better) - and get his own account. I admit, a few Gary Numan videos slipped in, here and there, but just as demos of what a certain Firefox add-on can do..He was astonished at Gary's newer material - bzuh; and 'got' immediately, my now-obsessive fascination - So I burned him a cd of The Mix, knowing that he'd love it and which he literally squeed over. YAY. I love poisoning people. :/ Never mind that I've been talking about Gary Numan for almost a year, solid, now..

Mental Snapshot: Pete, standing in my kitchen; reliving and telling vividly his part in the school Christmas play, where he had to jump up from the audience - with a spotlight on him, even - and shout enthusiastically his part, proclaiming Jesus as the Son of God. He was not half bad, really! Knew he had it in him, LOL - Dramah is our life - and, with the background story of how this young nun made him go out on his porch to memorize his part, projecting it over the main street traffic, and how it gave him confidence, and and and - it made me kinda remember my old Pete. ♥

And...*sigh*, I know..I know..Of course, we went outside - it's a beautiful cool, crisp night, and we had to look for Nibiru. Allegedly, it's visible to the left of Orion's belt, unless I remember what I read, wrong; which is always possible, with me.
He wants me to call off on Tuesday night..IDK...It's certainly tempting; all things considered.
And yes, we rival each other in both the Paranoia and Maudlin categories.
He's planning to sleep in the basement, that night, and make his mother sleep down there, as well..I, uh. You know I'm probably just going to go to work..

*~*~*

LOVE Jesse Ventura. There, I said it.

*~*~*

My son is such a wise soul; 'an old soul.' He astonishes me on a daily basis. My daughter - GOD, I love to hear her laugh - she's amazing ♥ They're both not only actual Good People, but are both Smart-Asses Extraordinaire; can't imagine where they get that, from :)

Maudlin-inity: Hope we have more time. If not, may we Boldly Go. :)

Wow, Gary's been back for a year now? How time flies! Glad you all had a fun night!

Actually? It's been over a year - but on and off. I remember last year was The Gary Numan Thanksgiving, at least..but it started before that, IIRC. Yikes.

So glad you two had a nice evening together.

My husband wants Ron Paul & Jesse Ventura as the next President/Vice President. (Too bad he cant vote.)

Read this (http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/story/2011/11/04/science-asteroid-earth-close.html). NASA says it's supposed to pass at 6:53 PM EST and it will be 324,600 kilometres away. Hopefully "basement sleeping" shouldn't be necessary. :)

I agree with J - I don't know a whole lot about Ron Paul, I'll admit, but I can learn.

And re: NASA? Why the urge for their employees to prepare for a disaster? Why the never-before 'scheduled' Nationwide (!) Emergency Broadcast System test? IDK, grrl.

Oh well, enjoy tomorrow!
;)

Too bad, too, because Peter Gabriel will be on Letterman on Wednesday night. Just in case the meteor misses, be sure to set your recorder. Or search YouTube the next day.
:)

Peter Gabriel will be on Letterman on Wednesday night - thanks for the reminder; I actually entered the contest to get to sit in on that session. Now THAT would've been The Way To Go. :D

Hey thanks for the reminder. Wonder if we'll be able to see it this far south. (sometimes I feel like I'm in another country). What do I do if I don't have a basement to hide in? My 'basement' is essentially full of water; 6 feet under and you've hit the water table here! I think I'll go ride the trolley.

Yes, you do have amazing kids. And I love your uniqueness; you don't know how many times seeing your posts on my flist has made my day. I'm glad you have them and Pete and we both may be struggling to make ends meet, but managing to spend time with them is more precious than any car that can park itself or paper thin, lightning fast computer. But I think we'll be ok and posting again on Wednesday. After all, Friday is Veterans Day and Outback owes me a free meal!!

♥

Y'know - if this thing hits? Or comes as close as they're speculating - screwing with our gravity? We won't have to worry about basements or anything. Ever again. The last alignment - with earth, the sun and the YU55 - was the day of the gigantic earthquake and tsunami in Japan, back in April (which is still billowing radiation, btw)..Just sayin'. THIS alignment will be the earth, the sun, YU55 and Pluto. IDK. I just know that I don't really want to be at work when/if it happens. Especially with that oddball earthquake we just had, in September.

Oh, and I've heard that it's going to hit on Thursday, now. Also heard Tuesday. So.

you don't know how many times seeing your posts on my flist has made my day - Bless your heart; thanks for your kind words. Sometimes it feels like it's just barking into a vacuum, you know?

OH, YAY FOR FREE MEALS. I like Outback, too. Good deal :)

Tuesday would be perfect for me since I haven't done anything that's due on Thursday.

It's wrong of me to want the world to be plunged into a global catastrophe because I'm burned out and hopeless and tired and just plain sick of this stuff. But I'm pretty used to be wrong by now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH2UB2uD-tA

(Lou would probably be insulted to be associated with this, even though he's just an lj icon here, but he can stuff it after subjecting the world to Loutallica. That probably made the asteroid veer in our direction, it's that awful.)

HA. This is DEFINITELY going on teh iPod. Story of my fucking LIFE, grrl. Fantastic. Thank you. And Lou - yes. Metalli - God. I can't even say it. I know. I've not been brave enough to listen to it, yet..the world is scary, enough..

No prob! That song is great, not necessarily comforting, but really, really apt sometimes. Often.

The album is about eight hours long. It's three or four CDs, which is... I can't. I am not entirely convinced that it isn't an elaborate practical joke, a big fuck you to the world, but then again, Lou's ego probably creates its own gravity.
