Revisited Tubeway Army's early stuff, last night - or, rather, this morning - with all the live bonus tracks, and wow. It absolutely hit me in just the right way. I never had the much-coveted Blue Album, being a poor and uninformed American teenager, of course - yet still, I mourn the vinyl lp I gave away to a once-dear friend. It's been ages since I've heard this stuff - hearing, My Shadow In Vain spurred me on to it. Ages. 1978 was a hella-good year.

Baby!Gary has That Voice ™, but it's much less controlled, much less self-conscious - with, 'that edge of panic'- thing he has going, sometimes, turned up to damn near a scream, in parts. Jess Lidyard's drums are pretty damned noteworthy, as well, all but carrying a couple of the songs. The live stuff sounds genuinely, affably live - and hearing Gary introduce the songs is a treat, as well.

Standouts, for me: The Life Machine, My Love Is A Liquid, Zero Bars (Mr. Smith), Me My Head (live), and freakin' Do Your Best (live)' AKA, 'Friends', which he sings so fast, LOL - all of it, really, GOOD STUFF.

Do Your Best, now: http://www.puredef.com/do-your-best/the-plan/tubeway-army/3192807/

My friend at work, Robin, surprised me with a small bulk container of swedish fish, on Thursday night. Mmmmm.

Spent a good portion of my evening off fussing with iPod playlists - one apiece for pg, the Cure, DEVO, Kraftwerk, New Blood Orchestra, Seeking Major Tom, Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army.
I've renamed Gary's playlist, 'Numan', five/six times, now - but it stubbornly remains, 'On-The-Go 27/12', for some reason. Even my iPod turns its nose up at Gary Numan.

Also had to do a MAJOR pruning of songs, to make room.
Sorry, Siouxsie - maybe if you'd been a bit nicer to Robert Smith, you'd have warranted more space..

Wish I was on Wall Street.

Five pm, EST, for those of us on the East Coast of the US.

They are having rallies all over the country (world). Maybe you can be there in spirit.

I read a recent TIME poll that said more American support Occupy Wall Street than they do the Tea party. Maybe there is hope.

Just got off the phone with Pete, have him halfway convinced to go to the gathering in Lancaster..Can't reach my mother, who may be interested, as well. Left a message with my daughter..so..hopefully SOMEONE will bite. I'm half-afraid to tell DJ about it, because this park allows tents, etc - and I *know* his behind will want to stay..

I sure hope the Occupy movement means that not all hope is lost.

Yeah - me, too - seeing the pictures and live feed, tonight, I'm finally getting somewhat excited by this. Loving all the Anonymous masks I'm seeing, too.
