Not dead but dying and it's sad. Kinda like when vinyl went out of style and now it's back. Maybe those crazy millenials will realize that there's more to socializing and communicating with friends worldwide than just what 140 characters can say.

That said - I'm on both, tho' I've filtered out my family and classmates and only follow interests, but even with that I'm just on information overload. You're not a Luddite (shoot you use torrents after all, the very best part of the internet!); you just know what's fluff and what's substance. My sister got me on FB and thought she was showing big sis something new and I thought, I've been doing this for years on LJ! But really, do I need to know THAT much about ALL those people?

- Actually...LOL. Some HELP. Three more just quit - that leaves FIVE of us to cover the entire shift 24/7. Five. The 'allowed' per NIGHT is seven, but I've not seen that in years, I guess. The state-mandated ratio is 1 CNA to 24 residents (still freakin' appalling), I believe - and I usually have thirty-six, depending on who's in the hospital, etc - and some of them are just frighteningly ill.
