It's still a big deal, to me. I still get a bit verklempt, thinking about it. I remember clearly, being able to stay up late to watch - on fuzzy black and white television, kids - Neil Armstrong's first step onto the moon.

And KNOWING it was a big deal, and that a man - an actual man, like my father, like my cigar-smoking neighbor with the glasses, like the mailman - was actually up THERE - up on that magical, mysterious, friendly-faced orb in the night sky - actually walking around. The same moon that I'd looked at, night after night, and wondered over, dreamed about. And wishing that maybe one day, I'D get to go, 'up there', too.

So, I bought this on eBay. Heh. Been putting it off for a long time. It will go nicely with my STS-133 patch and my Starfleet Medical patches ♥

Here's to you, Neil *raises coffee mug*
