Feb. 3rd, 2011 04:32 pmThank God for music.
DAMN, THE FLU SUCKS HARD.
I can breathe again - and get in three breaths before I have to hack; that's progress. I know I'm going to be in hot water, at work, but so. be. it. This shit hit me like a freight train.
While working one on a wing of thirty-six. In the ice storm, with no help. With a temp of 102.5 - and a load of Tylenol and some Cloriseptic lozenges - and yeah, I was a staggering, babbling fool by the time the morning rolled around, and of not much use to anyone. Got out late because we had to wait for our relief to arrive, and I was just about ready to either walk out or to curl up in a ball in the linen cart by the time they arrived. Annnd, I believe I may have been a bit mouthy about it. Oops. Got my coworker dropped off at her sister's, and somehow made my way home in that horrible mess - - LOL - the neighbors got quite a show, with my having to crawl on my hands and knees from my car to my patio, the ice was so bad.
I did not care.
By the time I got to my bed, I didn't know WHAT was going on. Trippin' balls, baybee. Had a hack-fit so bad, this morning about three am., I couldn't get my breath, and DJ was ready to call 9-1-1. Ye Gods. It marked the turning point out of it, though, I think.
Lots and lots of water and Advil gel-caps and thank God for the ancient orange juice in the back of my fridge - say a prayer my son doesn't get it, because his sister is moving this weekend - in the UPCOMING winter mess that's allegedly on its way. THIS current load of crap needs to melt so we can turn our freakin' heat on - the ice has sealed the rooftop vent shut, and that is bad stuff. So. At least we didn't lose power!
I know it's, 'par for the course', around here, but DAY-UM.
