Feb. 6th, 2009 11:00 amMe (reading Trivial Pursuit card question): "What has one eye, one horn, and flies; according to the pop song by (So and So)?"
DJ: "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?"
*~*~*
Starting to feel slightly more human, this morning. Fortunately - or, unfortunately; depends on my mood/who you ask - I was struck by...well..what could be construed as the NovoVirus.
Violently; but, I will spare you the details.
The only difference from the LAST time is I definitely had a temperature spike, with the shakes, the whishwhishwhishwhish-fever head, the whole nine yards. It's so cold, here, there was little to do but huddle under the covers in bed.
What strikes me the MOST is my own Chain of Reaction: a) BROWN GOLD! TWO DAYS OFF! INTO MY WEEKEND OFF, YET! Thank you, Lord, YAY!, b) What if they fire me for being absent? Lord knows, the two days leading UP to this little surprise were probably two of the worst I've ever had there; and it was REALLY starting to show..but, honestly, I'M NOT LYING. It actually happened. On the day it actually happened. I swear. They don't ask for a specimen or anything so I'm SURE they think I'm lying..*paranoia/stress*
..into *teeny, tiny background voice*, c) GOD, I ALMOST HOPE THEY *DO* FIRE ME...I wonder how much income tax I'll be getting back, and how long I can go on it..GAH.
Not a good attitude in today's economy..
*~*~*
In celebration, I bought my daughter this for her upcoming birthday:

Note the date. A hundred years, down to the month, prior her birth.
I can't wait to see it. They even had a London newspaper from 1913, advertising a Nijinsky ballet..
*~*~*
Back to Trivial Pursuit, again - While looking up another edition (probably gonna go for the '80s/90s/Pop Culture' one) I noted that the one we have - and have played to. death. - even though it's horribly out-of-date - now goes for about three hundred dollars on Amazon.
Bzuh.
