Sorry that I'm never around and lose hold of LJ when I'm on a work stretch. It's always like that with me. Hit or Miss. Not off work again until..Monday, I think.

After dropping DJ off at school, this morning, I stopped at a local frozen food place - that's also a 'dented cannery' - and found some bargains.
However, as I was pulling out, there was an elderly lady in front of me - also pulling out onto the highway. Apparently, she decided, all at once, that she was too far forward, and FLOORED it and BACKED UP - and SLAMMED into the front of my car. BOOM.
She hadn't even looked, but glanced up at the noise. I gave her a shocked look, then waved a 'C'mere', and started to back up, so we could have a look and assess the damage and possibly exchange insurance info.
As I backed up, there was a brief lull in oncoming traffic and SHE TOOK OFF LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL! That's right, HIT AND RUN, GRANDMA. WTF. I couldn't believe it, and traffic picked up so quickly that I couldn't go after her. This Amish lady (that had been loading boxes) and I just stared at each other.
Luckily, mein Dieter is a right tank, and is, so far, fine. I couldn't see if there was any damage to her vehicle, but W T F. Maybe, as DJ said, she was afraid to lose her license. Maybe, as I said, she OUGHTA.

The more I read about Palin's Nazi-esque rallies and the reactions - the folks shouting, 'Kill him!', etc...the press being threatened and, NOW, not allowed to even INTERVIEW her 'followers', the less I want to know..AND McCain slipping up and calling his listeners/minions, "My fellow prisoners" - WTF IS THAT ABOUT? Had two really good, riveting conversations/rants with both Patrick and Doug, last night, at Pete's.
Also got to see Colbert's 'Town Meeting with Semi-Striptease', so that made me feel a BIT better.
