correctiveshoes621: (gimme a sec here)
Hot. Hot. Hot.
And not in a wild, funky, off-the-wall Cure sort of way, either. It went from fifty to a hundred, pretty much overnight, here. One of the VERY few reasons I am glad to work the night shift. At three in the morning, last night, it was still in the eighties and humid.

Thank you, Bush. Thank you, SUV-driving morons. Thank you...cows?

*~*~*

Today is Teh Man's birthday.

Considering HE - after not working for five years - got his stimulus payment and lied about it; THEN, went out and bought an eight hundred dollar television...What should I get him, folks?

I know that *I* can think of a few things, but, really..I've got to stay within the limits of the law and the Ten Commandments..so killing him is out.

Any 'suggestions' are welcome.

*~*~*

Work has become The Circus of the Damned. And what comes around, goes around..

A coworker who:

a) when designated 'float' is NEVER seen on my wing except to get vitals at the beginning of the shift..and then, breezing by at the end of it, to do a wash-up, 'if she has time',

b) has a habit of, and was caught - 'hiding', in the dark room of a resident - sitting there in the dark, hiding so she'd not have to do any work,

c) had a girl in tears because she wouldn't come to that wing and help,

d) is sort of universally reviled, there, due to her sloppy work and laziness, and I just can't defend her, anymore -

- is pissed - because, last night (after the FIRST-half-of-the-night float did two of her three wash-ups AND her RITA computer charting, AND after we ALL stopped what we were doing and rallied around and helped her with bells and bedchanges on her first set of rounds) the SECOND-half-of-the-night float person was caught up (with me, who had to leave my wing, unattended) with a horrific fall on D Wing and did ONE wash-up for me and was not able to come to her wing (she was only there from four to six-thirty) - And it took ALL MY STRENGTH to bite my tongue and not say, 'Hey. How's it FEEL, huh?'

And yet, somehow, I feel guilty. Still. If only for my feeling of, 'NYAH, NYAH, HOW DO *YOU* LIKE IT?' - It kinda tells the tale of how things have deteriorated, there. And with me, personally.
