correctiveshoes621: (perfection)
It's been such an amazing past few days, that I can still barely process it out enough to write about it.

Good stuff; lots and lots of essential, life-giving stuff.

One of the best Cureshows I've ever seen - my God,, they've still got it - the power, the intensity, the heart - and the muscle to put it out there. SO, so good. The Stuff of Life. Still.

And Robert was the happiest, the most relaxed, the most connected to it that I've seen in a long while, it seems; as well as the healthiest-appearing and most..dare I say, comfortable with himself. Enjoying himself. So good to see that it's all not 'Meh' for him. There are no words.

GOD, I REALIZED HOW MUCH I MISS THEM (wittingly expressed with a few well-placed ribbings from one [livejournal.com profile] gayalithiel) - and my word. Simon. I simply couldn't take my eyes off him. He is still sculpted from absolute perfection; it's unbelieveable. There were times that he'd have his head down, concentrating, and - I SWEAR, I WAS STONE SOBER - it was like looking at photos from what? Thirty years ago? I love him; oh. My heart.

And SO, SO GOOD TO SEE AND HEAR PORL. Oh, yes. Their setlist was just fantastic - a nice mix of favorites and ow!-my-heart! and out-of-left-field surprises - just one after the other..I always, ALWAYS look at a Cureshow as if it 'may be the last' (Imaginary Chuck!Drama #148) - but if it were so? This would be a pretty damned good one. :)

And being able to share that with mon [livejournal.com profile] gayalithiel? My heart just glows with it. Pssst. People. She got verklempt when the boys did, 'If Only Tonight We Could Sleep' and it was a dear and beautiful thing.

Hehehhheee. The choo-choo car we stayed in was #32 - The Lamb Lies Down On The Broadway - and, in its past life, slept up to ten people, we were told - I'd have rather have had a car to ourselves (this one had been so huge that it was divided into two suites, if you will) - but it was pretty damned cool, nonetheless. It was ALSO totally fabulous that she met my Patrick, who came by with Pete for a bit.

We ate dinner in the dining car/restaurant, which was just so cute and run by really nice people who gave us carnations with our dinner for Mother's Day/free food/coffee/you-name-it, while we got to watch an elaborate miniature train set-up come to life in the museum/gift shop of the store, which was visible from where we sat.

Poor, poor [livejournal.com profile] gayalithiel, hehehhehheh. I totally geeked out on the train stuff, and she bought me a wee red caboose pencil sharpener that is just the cutest thing. *facepalm*

I will say - and yes, this is a good thing - that I have never enjoyed poisoning myself with tobacco less than I have this weekend. It was an apparent monsoon of gale-force winds and icy rain-needles, outside - in May? - and having to step outside in that to smoke (and, periodically chase after the porch chairs that kept blowing away) was SO not worth it. Hmm.

But..Everything ELSE? Every single moment?

Worth it. Day-um. Heh. And you can take THAT to the bank. ;)

..and yes, [livejournal.com profile] gayalithiel, even the big, scary trucks.
