(no subject)
Sep. 1st, 2005 08:38 amI'm actually kind of afraid to turn on CNN, this morning. It just gets worse and worse.
I *am* gonna find out about donating blood. And, as LunaRising said, I don't have much money, etc..but its way more than what a lot of people have right now.
Always plenty to share. Always.
*~*~*
S passed away this morning. As hard as it is to say, it really was a blessing. No living creature (with the possible exception of child-predators) should have to bear what she bore..and suffer so. I have never seen anything like it, and hope I never do again.
Our Head Charge Nurse came up to me and told me that she had passed, and she said that she 'knew she was doing the right thing by having me sit with her all night last night', and that she 'knew it was hard for me, but she was so glad that it was me that was with her in her 'thin time''. She knew that there were certain coworkers who were peeved that I was taken off the floor like that and she said that 'if anyone has a problem with it, tell them to come talk to ME.' I was humbled by this as she hugged me tight with tears in her eyes. Just gobsmacked.
I mean, it was a privilege, a sacred thing. Period. And something to be held oh, so carefully..and I said as much. Nothing on earth..nothing in Man's Experience is as personal. As important. And I am so glad that we were able to rustle up a Bible for her. It gave her so much comfort.
She is free, now.
*~*~*
A night off. Heh.
Work hard..PLAY hard.
Let the games begin.
