Sure as hell didn't see THAT coming..
Sep. 25th, 2004 12:57 pmUm. Can SOMEONE *please* explain why my dish sponge was full of cactus spines?
You know, those infinitessimal reddish ones that you canNOT get out of your hands?
What a thing to wake up to. Fuckin' OW. OW. OW.
Gonna be one of those days, I think.
ETA: But HEY. No one's HERE but ME. This means I can actually play MUSIC. OUT LOUD.

Sep. 25th, 2004 02:12 pmMy kitchen floor is never so clean as when The Cure cleans it with me, heh.
*Pictures Simon on his hands and knees in his kilt..scrubbin' away. Rob, of course, is..um..supervising. Yeah. Supervising..*
I want to see pictures of Rob weeding his garden. Out in natural sunlight, sweating..dirt under his fingernails. Simon is a lot easier to picture doing ordinary things like that, somehow. I would like very much to see him working on one of his bikes..frowning with concentration, wiping grease on himself, cursing under his breath..Just the smell of a greasy garage, kinda..well..never mind that.
Oh, and I want to see him rocking the baby, too. I can imagine his face.
Q: What's your most treasured possession?
A: Eden's drawings.
~ Interview with Simon Gallup, 1992
Yeah. I really love these guys a bit too much. But you know...it has been for more than half my life, now. Too late to stop, I guess; and I just don't wanna.
So many life-changing events have been accompanied by their music..and so many memories are triggered by certain songs..just a few luscious, atmospheric notes, and I am THERE again. They have been a genuine gift to me.
"The Cure are the Led Zeppelin of the fucked-up generation. They will never get old."
