GodDAMN, it's cold in here. You watch..once the weather turns nice again, the bastard will start working. My poor kids; it is a wonder we all don't have pneumonia.

Off to work; where at least I will be warm! Too bad that most of the residents keep their rooms at 90 degrees or above....

ETA: Just went out to start my car, and it's FUCKING SNOWING. This is not a good thing.

Just a teeny 'lil RL triumph.

Helen Keller (I know, I know..) went to Bingo today; after eating an amazing breakfast for me (I mean, it is only common sense to cut the hardassed crusts off her french toast, so she can chew it, yo).

It may not seem like it, but it is a BIG DEAL. Bless her heart.

She was Mizz Laura's roomate for almost ten years..and I was horrified to find out that no one had even talked to her about it when Laura died. (They think that Helen can't talk..but, she CAN..she even tells me what juice she likes best..*pineapple*..loud and clear.) But, anyway..on Thursday, first chance I got, I went and talked to her a bit about Laura's passing. She understood, and nodded, and squeezed my hand when I said that I would miss her, too. I just hugged her to pieces.

But, she was full 'o beans today. And WANTED to go and socialize..she doesn't hear so well; so Squeeeee! I found Mizz D -- who is almost blind, and sat them together. D heard what numbers were called...and Helen put the markers on the card.

Such a simple solution.

God, I am so lucky to have found my job.

*sigh*

Unbelieveable.

Sometime between 4 pm. last night and tonight (in line at Blockbuster's, of all places), my wallet disappeared.

MAN. My whole life was in there.

Just spent a frustrating hour trying to get in touch with my useless bank (the 'help line' is only open 'til five, of course..WHY BOTHER HAVING IT?) to let them know about my ATM card (which I live and die on)...and trying to navigate the $%^&* DMV site to replace my license. Add to that, I have to deal with my lost/stolen SS card..and my voter's registration..etc, etc, etc....

Naturally, the Amish market that I used my wallet last at closes at liEk, NOON..and Heaven Forbid! is not open on a Sunday.....

..and the worst thing? A picture of Pete, DJ and I on DJ's very first rollercoaster was in there..the absolute terror on my son's face never fails to make me smile. Good times.

God's Jobber, yo. I'm tellin' ya.
