Okay..

Just to catch up here, as it has been a very eventful past week.


First off, my son had hip surgery that went well. It was a slipped femoral epiphesis, and what that boils down to was putting a pin into it to hold it in place. Which means crutches for a long time, no school for about two weeks...and no sports for 12 to 18 months. No football, no wrestling, no track and field..He is most displeased by this. There is also a slight chance that the other hip could develop the same problem. Time will tell. Very scary, seeing one of your 'best friends' going into surgery..wearing the little hat, talking hilarious nonsense about pickles..


In other news, MY DAUGHTER GOT ENGAGED THIS PAST SUNDAY! WHOO! She and her beau (which even this 'smother-mother' approves of) have been dating for about a year and a half. It will be a long engagement, as they are smart enough to wait until they are both out of college..projecting towards July '05. There aren't words in the english language worthy of the joy I feel for them; seeing them so happy..knowing they are meant for each other. Talk about your 'peas in a pod'. Bless them both..and you guys? Say a prayer for when I meet his mother for the first time..for some reason, can't imagine why...we have never gotten together..Scary. But so happy, at the same time. When he called me to 'ask for her hand', I almost cried then and there. No, it wasn't a total shock, but it came out of the blue, nonetheless.


Oh, and all I have to say is, "DOM". My respect for you has grown. Keep it together as best you can..and that goes to ALL the guys.
