Losing such a dear person in one's life never seems to get easier - we just learn to fill in the gaps the best we can, I guess.
Yeah, 'broken filter': usually not good (although it does seem to be actually helping Donald Trump - all hail the American electorate).
I know a bit how you feel: with the internet & social media things change so swiftly and not always in way we want/like. I still often reminisce over the heyday of LJ - that's how out of it I am.
