Yikes. Trying REALLY hard not to get caught up in all the, 'Frankenstorm' hysteria. It DOES look like the *entire state of Pennsylvania* is going to get clobbered, but, what can I do?

After the week I've had, it's just not IN me to panic.
Pete's in a freakin' tizzy.

We've tons of canned food, can openers, boxed milk - all that sort of stuff. I *do* have to get out and get laundry done and get bottled water - I'm just gonna fill my car with jugs, as the machine is right at the laundrymat. I also want to get some cash, to have on hand. Some cigarettes and matches. A cooler, with ice. Bread, crackers. Maybe a small hibachi. Duct tape and semi-heavy plastic sheeting (watching too much, Dexter) - and Pete has a transistor radio, and a landline for me, as well. Just need batteries.

I took down the metal sun that gayalithiel bought us, and the ferns, and the lanterns, and got out the ice melt and shovel, and put out the kero containers to fill, in the morning. There is NOTHING I can do about the two dead-ish-looking trees, next to our place - and that is my main worry, really. Got tons of candles, already, and a couple of good flashlights, and even a charger for my iPod that DJ got me - so I can charge it from my car.

After all, if, "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!", I will need the proper soundtrack.

I sure hope everyone is overreacting and it's all much less worse than expected. You mentioning the sun I got you reminds me I never told you how proud Simon Lilac was that he was big enough to get TP'd during Homecoming week! :)

I really hope the storm isn't as bad as they're predicting....we're not supposed to get it really bad, but still. The local pundits keep talking about how our power supply infrastructure is ancient and will it survive another hit and jesus fuck I don't want to be without power! When that freak deracho thing hit earlier in the summer, people lost power for weeks, even a month.

We at least have a gas stove & my dad squirrels away cereal & pasta like it's going out of style.
