Heh, ebay...makes it too tempting to part with our money, doesn't it? I can speak to that violin though. Pretty as it may be, you are not going to get any kind of decent instrument for that price. Nope. And that pretty paint? Does not lend itself to good sound. Trust me here, a shabby instrument is the fastest way to make a student lose interest. Uh-huh. The cello my C is eyeballing is $2,300, and that is considered "cheap". Ouch.

That cat tree though, damn. The free shipping gets me. How?!

H'yeah....I thought as much, re: violin. I just want one so bad - a good thing to start saving up, for. FOR ME. I work so effin' hard, I thought it'd be a good stress-release that's not computer-related....It's been, what? *cough*HOW MANY years?*cough* I'd rather not think about it.

She plays the cello???? Oh, man. Lovelovelove - there are few intruments that, 'speak' like a cello. YOUR GRRL HAS SUCH TASTE - CAN'T IMAGINE WHERE SHE GETS IT FROM. But ouch - that's a lot of money.

As for the cat tree? You assemble it yourself, and they seem to sell a LOT of them - that's my guess.

If you want a violin (or any orchestral string, for that matter), find a music shop that specializes in used instruments. When someone's little prince or princess loses interest in an instrument, you can pick it up for a reasonable price. It might not be "pretty", but hey, chips are like scars - add character. And yeah, it would be a great way to spend your "spare" time. Music = life.

Oh, she does. Of course the cello, what else would she play? As big as her and loud and expensive...yeah, sounds like my kid. This is the one she wants. Keep that price in mind, and know that it is considered a *student instrument*. Uh-huh. Her instructor's cello? "It cost more than my car, but I use my cello more anyway." Well into the five figure range. Yep. But, here's the thing about the cello, m'dear...of all instruments, the cello is the one that most closely matches the human vocal range. There you go.

(Oh the things I learn from that kid!)

The cat tree has my attention. Cheap AND free shipping? Damn. No surprise they sell a shitton.
