“You are a slow learner, Winston."

"How can I help it? How can I help but see what is in front of my eyes? Two and two are four."

"Sometimes, Winston. Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once. You must try harder. It is not easy to become sane.”

Happy Thanksgiving to all those that celebrate <3

All that remains is the return trip to Philly, tomorrow, to pick up my passport, then, some last minute laundry/packing. Then, I fly out on Sunday, the 27th..Touch down in Frankfurt, Germany for a few hours..then, on to Birmingham, which is huge.

My daughter. Made me look up schedules online, and *gave me a hundred dollars cash* to take the train to Solsbury Hill. I get a bus to Batheaston, from Bath, blah blah blah..

Yes, I cried.

If we time it right, I will be there at sunset..Twilight, the Magic Time *goosebumps*..when we saw that, we just looked at each other and I knew that she knew.

Christmas gift, indeed. LIFE gift.

You should see the hotel that Anita has booked for us in Manchester. Pretty lah-dee-dah. The Cure will be playing on the 28th, right across the street...and WHOO-HOO! I'M TAKING THE CUREJACKET ™ FOR HER TO WEAR AT THE SHOW.

I can't freakin' wait.

K R A F T W E R K.

Perfect night, perfect venue, perfect company.

I could barely take the bliss, was almost in tears. I *love* their opening and couldn't believe that I was actually *there*, witnessing it live - the vocorder welcomed us, and the hairs literally stood up on my arms. The music was just melting and shimmering, all around us. Such absolute joy. I'm still so high on it, I can't really speak, yet. I want to remember it so -

Just because it's such aching perfection ♥:

OMG, you guys. Last night - it was a BIG SECRET, but I can tell you all now - my son did his very first stand-up comedy set at the open mic night, here:

Annnnnnd he KILLED it! He said one guy almost literally fell out of his chair, and that they didn't believe that it was his first time. He's a natural, and I've always known it, but it's good that others know it, too, now. I was *finally* allowed to tell the fam, and my mother was actually supportive - remembering the school show where he played Santa and stole the show ♥ It was HILARIOUS. I am 100% supportive - do it NOW, when he has a safety net, here at home - he's been writing in a billion wee notebooks, compiling for ages, and knows that he has to pay his dues..and handle the eventual hecklers, etc, but I am so thrilled for him and proud. What cajones. Now that he has had a taste, he can't wait to go back next week.

So you all read it here, first :)

Thanks for the congrats, my friends - this is going to be *interesting* -

- flying with my co-winners and Le BigWigs for an overnight/banquet in New Bedford, Mass. on Simon's birthday June 1 - 2. Got to get a haircut and some clothes and borrow some luggage, YIKES. It was insane. I was so tired that I could barely see straight, and they literally had to have me retake my picture, last night, because my eyes were so bloodshot. Horrifying. This is not fun for me, but I am the first night-shifter there to get this - ever - so I gotta represent. Everyone was cheering and hugging me and they literally STUFFED the ballot box because the same little blonde Barbie dolls people get it every year. Hilariously, they had no CHOICE, this year.

We were told, 'What happens in New Bedford, stays in New Bedford.' - and that there will be drinking...REEK, REEK, REEK, REEK!

And yet - all I want to do is hang out and watch these lovely Periscopes of the CureTour!

Weird Al is, like, a fucking genius. And yes, I'm wild and loose on the internets, catching up on such important things. He's got some chops, though, and Dare to be Stupid, just. Song of songs, video of videos. I'm really digging one of his live shows on The Youtube. Pete and I took my son to see him way-y-y back when he was little, and Al wore the, 'Fat Suit' - in 103 F weather at an amusement park.

And what the hell is in, 'Crispy' M & Ms? My son bought them and I'm leery. It's like some weird treacly chemical sugar-marrow, when I was expecting, IDK rice, maybe...Gross. It doesn't even describe it on the label, either - just the word, 'crispy', with a backdrop of yellowy-white with slightly menacing globes, floating in it. No, I don't have television, still. :D

Somebody, please - throw a vintage astronaut at me! Charlie Day continues to be unnervingly hot.

Pete demanded I watch this commercial, and I'm glad he did *tears*

Also, how am I just now finding out about Mo-Do? We literally screamed, over the phone, LOL. Oh, for the gut ol' days..

It was just liEk, 'Enough is enough is enough, wtf.', so yes, I inhaled.

Why not? Life is short and my day was long and, wow. I'm so relaxed.

Cozy, even.

It's been so long, it seems a marvel. How can this be bad?

Guys. I really hatehatehate to say this, but I guess the dreaded Facebook has its uses.

Got back in touch with an old friend, and:

a) she is absolutely delightful

b) has kinda restored my faith (at least partially) in humankind

c) she was always pretty, but I don't think she ever knew it, but, now - she's gorgeous! And has no clue - adorable. And so dear. And so interesting. And so smart and funny!

d) I'd probably not be here, if it weren't for her in middle school, and it will be nice to tell her that

e) everyone's family has at least a LITTLE crazy, in it

I can't even IMAGINE what she thinks of me and all my jolly adventures of the past - but I will say she was very polite, about it - heh - and we had some great laughs. Loved getting back in touch with her - the FIRST time I was drug onto FB, she was the first person I looked for, but she'd gotten married, and was living in another state, and and and - - but this time, around, she found me, and I'm really glad.

Here's to YOU, Miss A! *toasts with coffee*

*Memories of DaVille*

Okay - talk me down, ppl.

I talked to an amazing couple from Texas at the grocery store and am seriously thinking about becoming a....trucker.

WTF is holding me, here?

Yeah, I'm terrified of semis, in general - but the money. The Life on the Road - I would love it. Annnnnnd the money. At the rate I'm going...where I'm at - with most places being the same horrific, degrading, hardcore stress-filled, no-thanks, safety-violation-filled crap - - this may be a viable option to, a) save actual money to retire, b) preserve what's left of my health - and back/hip, in particular. The arthritis is really getting the best of me, lately - and with winter, coming..

There's just no way to work full-time, doing what I'm doing, where I do it - and do nursing school. I know. Time to face it, though.

She did say to wait until spring, because that's when most classes start - ? - sounds good; she also said what companies to watch out for...and SHE was the driver, in the family. Not the husband. HER.

So. You never know. Yee haw.

Fuckin' A. Of COURSE. Entire pint of Earl Grey? Meet laptop. The end.

-- until I can afford another. Auf Weidersehen, ya'll.
correctiveshoes621: (Roberty)
My brain is broken - read the quote - :D

PLEASE let this be available, somewhere, soon!
correctiveshoes621: (Bill)
Yuck. Back to the grind.

*ETA: SURPRISE!NIGHT OFF. Gonna definitely make lemonade out of this.
